We are grateful for this opportunity to share a glimpse of our lives with you.  Adoption is especially meaningful to us, since Heidi was adopted as an infant, forever changing the trajectory of her life.  Her parents also made a plan out of their unending love for their child.  Please know that as you are guided through these difficult decisions, you are already being covered in prayers by us, our family, and our friends.

We met in 2016 and, after briefly dating, we married in the spring of 2017! About a year after we were married, we found our dream home. It was about this time that we realized we had fertility issues.  We were blessed with the ability to get pregnant with our daughter the winter of 2019, though, and she was born the following fall!  We have loved every minute of being her parents and love watching her grow into her beautiful personality!

Don grew up in inner-city Dayton in a simple household and family of five.  Both his parents and grandparents were born and raised in Kentucky, so, being raised in inner-city Dayton gave him a unique cultural perspective.  His house was always full of music and the hub for overnights with friends, and they always attended church on Wednesdays and Sundays.  He now works locally as a Code Enforcement Office.

Heidi and her brother grew up in rural Ohio with a large extended family.  As an infant, she was adopted, and then her older biological brother came along and was also adopted when she was about two years old.  They had a wonderful childhood! Adoption was normal to them and their lives were filled with miniature schnauzers, spending time at family gatherings, and going camping on the search for the next lighthouse!  For the past 16 years, she has worked in the Long Term Care field.

We are both so grateful for the opportunity to adopt…to be able to teach and nurture your child, demonstrating to them daily that adoption is normal, just as Heidi’s parents demonstrated for her throughout her life.  We are intentional about spending quality time together as a family. Whether that means eating meals together, reading books before bed, traveling, going to church, or spending time with family. Before even starting a family, one of the traditions we chose to begin was praying a Bible verse over children before they were born and as they continued to grow.  Our desire for your child is that they will always know and seek God as they lead a happy and fulfilled life.  Even though we haven’t met your child yet, we have felt called to pray Philippians 2:13 over them:

“…for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill His good purpose.”

God’s plan and purpose for all of our lives has been unexpected, but, please know that our families will forever be bonded together by your child.
