Hello!  We are Christopher and Kelley. Thank you for taking the time to learn about us and for giving us a chance to tell you a bit about our lives.  Though we haven’t met, we cannot imagine the feelings you have or will experience, but we do know that you want what is best for your child.  No matter what you choose, you have our sincere support.

We were both looking for something new in the fall of 2008.  It didn’t take long for each of us to figure out that each person was “the one”.  After a brief courtship followed by our engagement, we have been married for 12 years.  Originally, Chris is from the Akron area and Kelley is from the Pittsburgh area.  Both of them are transplants, moving to Cincinnati for their careers.  Chris used to work for an architecture firm, only for Chris to later start his own firm and Kelley as a teacher of the Deaf/hard-of-hearing in the greater Cincinnati area.

This is our second stint in Cincinnati and we have been here for 9 years.  Currently, we live in a village 20 minutes from downtown Cincinnati.  Our village is admired for its historical mansions, colorful Victorians, and the village’s center filled with shops and restaurants.  Another quality that we love is that our village and the school district is quite diverse.  We appreciate having the “best” of both worlds of small town feel complete with family fun, along with access to all that a large city has to offer.

A bit about us:  “Kelley is honest, fun, and a free-thinking spirit who is always up for an adventure or to have a good laugh.  She is a very attentive and caring mother, and has the biggest heart within our family.” – “Chris is a loving, kind, doting, and involved friend, father, and husband.  I knew early on he would be a great dad, especially since he was so engaging with even the most reluctant of kids.”  As for our son, Henry is the light of our lives!  He is such a sweet and loving boy who is also smart and inquisitive.  He’s always ready to explore more about something that he had just learned.  Additionally, we have our two fur babies- our pup Casper and our orange tabby Flynn, both are always up to antics. Both of our animals are happy, affectionate, and very good with people.

As a family, we fill our time with things we love: travel, day trips, the great outdoors, our son’s activities, seasonal traditions, and visits to extended family. We believe that experiences with each other, not things, are our greatest treasure. We both come from large families filled with our many siblings, cousins, and grandparents. We have family members scattered around the country. Though distance and time separate us, the distance lends itself to quality time with our loved ones.

Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know us. As we think about a blended, extended family, we want you to be a part of our lives, as open as you want to be. We know how important this child’s birth story is, and how important culture, identity, and family of origin are. We promise to never lose sight of that. We would love to share more about ourselves and to get to know you better too! If you have any questions, please let us know and we will be happy to provide more information about our family at Adoption Professionals.

With love,
Kelley, Chris, Henry, (and Flynn and Casper too)!
