Dear Mom to Be,
Though we’ve not met you, we pray for you. You must have a lot of tough emotions about the idea of placing your baby for adoption, but if you wind up choosing this path, we see it as a tremendous act of love for your baby. If we get to welcome your baby to our family, it would be our privilege to pile our love for them on top of your own–like an extra scoop of ice cream on their hot fudge sundae!
When we were dating, we knew we couldn’t have babies on our own. It took us a while for us to come to grips with that as a couple, but when we decided to get married, we knew we wanted to grow our family with adoption.
Myles and Marshall have made us a family of four, and baby, they have brought us so much joy! Your baby will be sooo unique and special and bless whomever gets to love on them as their adoptive parents. We didn’t get to meet Myles’ birth mom, but we admire her profoundly for choosing to bring him into the world even though she didn’t think she could take care of him. We met Marshall’s birth mom before he was born and have maintained a great relationship with her. We make sure both of them know how much their birth mommies loved them and how they bravely brought them into the world.
We live in Cincinnati, just a few miles from downtown. We love living in the city and the many things that go with that—like a diverse neighborhood and proximity to parks and museums, to name a couple. We believe this will be a rich environment for our children to grow and learn.
Ben works from home and Sarah works downtown, which is close to home. This flexibility has been very helpful while the kids are young. They go to daycare and preschool close to both our house and our jobs, so we’re just a few minutes away if needed. We’re also very fortunate to have a big support system around us: On top of having family in the area, we have a ton of friends, siblings and neighbors with young kids to grow up with.
