Hello and welcome! Thank you for visiting this space and learning about our family. We are Derek and Meghan. We just want to start by acknowledging how incredibly brave we think you are and to thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about us. We cannot begin to imagine the emotions you must be feeling but please know whether or not our paths ever cross, we have been and will continue to be praying for you.
We first met in 2012 at a campus ministry retreat called Give Your Heart Away in Charlotte, NC. Although we started off as friends, it didn’t take very long before we started dating, and we got married in 2016. We both have always dreamed of becoming parents and after trying to start a family on our own, it was challenging to receive confirmation of our infertility. However, with faith and trust, we truly believe God has called us on this path to adoption and we are working on embracing it with joy.
Shortly after getting married, we moved to Cincinnati for Derek’s job. Derek works as a chemist and enjoys spending time in nature on the weekends hiking or going geocaching. He is excited to share these hobbies with our child and find out what they are interested in too. Meghan is a middle school math teacher who absolutely loves her students and cannot wait to spend her summers and holiday breaks with a little one. She looks forward to being able to visit parks and the zoo and reading lots of books during these times! Another important member of our family is our sassy cat Darwin; while he isn’t always cuddly, he certainly loves to be near us!
Our home is situated on a quiet cul-de-sac in the suburbs of Cincinnati about 20 minutes from downtown. This allows us to be close enough to enjoy all the benefits of the city, like going to Reds games, walking in the parks, and attending Broadway shows. Our location makes it easy for us to have the opportunity to explore new places, check out events, and go out to eat on the weekends. A typical weekend usually includes some type of adventure, playing board games or watching shows and movies. We truly cannot wait to share these adventures and moments with a little one.

We are open to having a relationship of whatever feels the most comfortable to you but regardless of what that looks like, you will always be in our prayers.
