Self-care is a big part of the adoption journey. Healing takes time, and that means making space to focus on yourself. With adoption comes grief, but it also brings out an incredible strength within you, and carrying both at once can feel heavy.

Taking care of your heart, body, and mind is essential. When you care for yourself, you’re better able to show up for your baby, your relationships, and your life. Self-care doesn’t have to be big or expensive. It can look like: journaling before bed, signing up for therapy, taking a walk in nature, lighting a candle and sitting in quiet reflection, grabbing coffee with a friend, or even allowing yourself an afternoon nap without guilt.

Building self-care into your daily rhythm creates resilience. It strengthens you so you can handle what comes your way. Self-care is simply love directed toward yourself, and you deserve every bit of that love.
