No one grows up planning to choose adoption. It’s a decision that comes in the middle
of an unplanned pregnancy, when you’re faced with questions you never expected to
answer.
So often I hear women say, “I don’t want to give my baby up.” What they may not realize
is that adoption isn’t giving up at all, it’s making the very first parenting decision for their
child. Adoption means choosing, with love and intention, who will raise your baby and
provide the future you hope for them.
Adoption places the power in a mother’s hands. No one should ever force or pressure
you. The choice is yours, and sometimes that first choice is choosing adoption. It’s a
parenting decision that carries weight, but also incredible strength.
Love is costly. Making a decision in love can hurt deeply, but it is also one of the most
powerful expressions of courage. Adoption says, “I love you enough to place your
needs above my own.”
This isn’t abandonment. It’s bravery. It’s hope. It’s giving precious life.
Adoption is love that stretches between birth parents and adoptive parents, creating a
circle of care where a child is cherished by many. That’s why language matters. It’s not
“giving up.” It’s giving love, giving hope, and giving a future.
